Silage has proved to be an efficient and economic method for storing and preserving animal feed.

HiTeC manufactures wide 3-layer black/white silage films (*). The white layer, facing the sky, reflects heat and prevents overheating of the feed, while the black layer assures total opacity. Due to their 3-layer structure these films have lower gas-transmission than monolayer films and lead to better fermentation of the stored product, hence in better quality of the animal feed. The recommended thickness of silage films is 125-150 mic. They are UV-stabilized for 1 year or more and can be produced at widths up to 18 m. HiTeC's latest range of silage films is based on high-strength polymers (metallocenes), which can be made thinner than regular PE films, while still being stronger and safer.

HiTeC specializes in manufacturing top quality 7'-12' silage bags for storage of animal feed and grain. HiTeC's bags are made with a unique combination of advanced polyolefins, offering strength, softness, UV-resistance and low creep. Bags are bright white outside and black opaque inside, usually 8-9 mils thick (200-230 mic.). They are carefully folded and packed in strong carton boxes.

Silage bags offer an easy, safe and economic way for temporary storage of maiss, grass, grain and other products, allowing for optimal fermentation conditions and preservation of their nutrient value due to the tightness and lack of air inside them, even when the stored product contains up to 25 % humidity. HiTeC can offer along with the bags the whole technology and machinery needed for filling the bags.

Polyethylene films offer an efficient and inexpensive solution for covering farm buildings & animal shelters. The most advanced structures for animals, employee a thick external film (200-250 mic.) and a thin (100-150 mic.) internal one, with an insulating material sandwiched in between.

HiTeC offers a range of 3-layer co-extruded films at a thickness of 150-250 mic., UV-stabilized for a lifetime of 3-5 years depending on the area of use. Most usual colors are White, Black/White, White/Green, Green and Black/Green.
